Brilliant plot and setting. I think Leonardo is in the “I’ll accept that role if the story would leave those who’ll watch it mind-fucked.” mode. Inception was some awesome sh*t and Shutter Island is, too.
I love how it involved psych issues with accuracy and the touch of story tangled mazes and a bit of gore. If my sister didn’t spoil me of the main jawdropping reveal then maybe I could’ve had more goosebumps. Worth the watch on a rainy summer night!
Crazy, Stupid, Love
I think I expected too much, given that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone would team up together plus Steve Carell was one of the main characters made me think that the movie would be damn sexy and hilarious. Well, it is SEXY! Those too good to be true hella hot abs of Ryan. Ugh! There were just enough sappy moments which all of chick flicks have. I predicted the twist and I guess it added to my “boos”.
I am number four
I read the book prior to downloading and watching this YA flick, and set my expectations on a normal range so that I wouldn’t end up whining about this and that (‘cause I’ve heard bad reviews already.)
Amazing isn’t the perfect word and I guess it would be an “overstatement” but it was actually “ok”, just fine. Not that shocking and impressive but it somehow gave justice to the story line, tho they manipulated some parts which I guess is inevitable. Four’s legacies looked better as what I’ve imagined it to be and Bernie Kosar’s transformation was the bomb, prolly the highlight. Nuff said! :))
Channing and Rachel look good together. They have that Nicholas Sparks inspired chemistry. Haha! I really thought this movie was a film adaptation of one of the works of the mentioned novelist but no. :)) Anyway, there were a lot of dull moments that just seem to be repeated all over. I didn’t even bother pausing it when I decided to have a bladder break, that’s how unnecessary and unimportant most of the scenes were for me. It didn’t offer a perfect happy ending but I guess that’s better than settling for the safe she remembered him closure.
